1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website or application.

They are commonly used to keep a user signed in, remember preferences, improve security, provide essential functionality or understand how a service is used.

Similar technologies may include local storage, session storage, pixels, scripts or server-side logs.

2. How GO4 uses cookies

GO4 uses cookies and similar technologies for essential service functionality, user preferences and, on the public GO4 website, optional analytics.

These purposes may include:

  • keeping a user logged in
  • protecting user sessions
  • supporting OAuth and embedded app flows
  • remembering language preferences
  • remembering analytics consent preferences
  • supporting security and fraud prevention
  • operating the GO4 monitoring dashboard and public pages
  • understanding how visitors use the public GO4 website when optional analytics is accepted

The public GO4 website uses Google Analytics 4 only after a visitor explicitly accepts optional analytics.

GO4 uses a basic consent model. The Google Analytics tag is not loaded and analytics cookies are not set before the visitor accepts optional analytics. If analytics is declined, Google Analytics remains disabled on the public website.

The current GO4 analytics integration does not enable Google advertising storage, advertising user data, advertising personalization or remarketing features.

3. Types of cookies and similar technologies we use

GO4 may use the following categories of cookies and similar technologies.

Essential cookies

Essential cookies are required for GO4 to work correctly.

They may be used for:

  • authentication
  • session management
  • account security
  • CSRF protection
  • Shopify OAuth flow support
  • embedded Shopify app access
  • preventing unauthorized access
  • other functionality necessary to provide the GO4 service

These cookies cannot normally be disabled without affecting the functionality or security of GO4.

Preference cookies

Preference cookies and similar browser storage may be used to remember choices made by the visitor.

For example, GO4 may remember:

  • whether English or Bulgarian was selected
  • the visitor's analytics consent preference on the public website

These technologies are used to provide a consistent experience when the visitor returns to GO4.

Analytics or performance cookies

The public GO4 website uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, only after the visitor accepts optional analytics.

Google Analytics helps GO4 understand how the public website is used. This may include information about page visits and selected privacy-safe interactions with the website.

GO4 may record analytics events such as:

  • opening the Request access form
  • successfully submitting a Request access form
  • successfully submitting a support request
  • clicking the client portal link
  • standard website interactions measured through Google Analytics

GO4 does not send the contents of contact forms, names, email addresses, company names, store domains, support messages or other information entered into those forms to Google Analytics through these events.

When analytics is accepted, Google Analytics may use first-party cookies including:

  • _ga, used to distinguish users
  • _ga_<container-id>, used to maintain session state

Google documents a default lifetime of up to two years for these cookies, although their actual lifetime may depend on browser behavior, Google Analytics configuration and applicable privacy controls.

Visitors can withdraw or change their analytics consent at any time through Cookie settings on the public GO4 website.

Marketing cookies

GO4 does not currently use advertising, retargeting or marketing cookies on the public website through the Google Analytics integration.

Google advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalization remain disabled in the current GO4 analytics configuration.

If GO4 introduces advertising or marketing technologies in the future, this Cookie Policy and the applicable consent controls will be updated before those technologies are enabled where required.

4. Cookies currently expected from GO4

The exact cookie names may depend on production configuration and the features being used.

GO4 may use cookies such as:

  • shopify_monitor_session or another configured session cookie name, used for login sessions and security
  • go4_lang, used to remember language preferences
  • go4_front_lang, used to remember or share language preferences with public GO4 pages

GO4 may also use browser storage to remember whether a visitor accepted or declined optional analytics on the public website.

If optional analytics is accepted, Google Analytics may set cookies including:

  • _ga, used to distinguish users
  • _ga_<container-id>, used to maintain session state

Google documents a default lifetime of up to two years for these Google Analytics cookies, subject to browser behavior and configuration.

5. Google Analytics on the public GO4 website

GO4 uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors interact with the public website at go4.biz.

This analytics integration is optional.

Under the current GO4 consent implementation:

  • Google Analytics is not loaded before analytics consent is granted
  • declining optional analytics keeps Google Analytics disabled
  • accepting optional analytics allows the Google Analytics tag to load on the public website
  • the visitor can later change their choice through Cookie settings
  • advertising-related Google consent settings remain disabled

The public website analytics integration is separate from the authenticated GO4 monitoring application.

GO4 does not use this public website analytics integration to track activity inside:

  • the GO4 monitoring dashboard
  • authenticated client sessions
  • the Shopify embedded GO4 application

Google's own processing of information collected through Google Analytics is governed by Google's applicable terms and privacy policies.

More information is available from Google Privacy Policy.

6. Shopify embedded app context

When GO4 is used inside Shopify Admin, Shopify may use its own cookies, session tokens or authentication mechanisms to provide the embedded app experience.

Shopify's own cookies and platform processing are governed by Shopify's policies.

You can learn more from Shopify's published privacy materials at Shopify Privacy Policy.

7. GO4 JS Agent and storefront monitoring

If a merchant manually installs or enables the GO4 JS Agent on their own website or Shopify storefront, the JS Agent is intended for technical monitoring and diagnostics.

The GO4 JS Agent is separate from the optional Google Analytics integration used on the public GO4 website.

The JS Agent is not intended to set advertising cookies or sell personal data.

Depending on configuration, it may send technical monitoring data to GO4, such as:

  • page URL or path
  • performance timings
  • JavaScript errors
  • resource errors
  • DOM assertion results
  • Shopify page signals

Merchants are responsible for updating their own cookie policies and privacy notices if their use of GO4 JS Agent requires disclosure or consent under applicable law.

8. Managing cookies and analytics consent

You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Most browsers allow you to delete cookies, block cookies or receive warnings before cookies are stored.

On the public GO4 website, optional analytics can also be controlled through the GO4 consent controls.

When the consent notice is displayed, you can choose to:

  • Accept analytics
  • Decline analytics

If you decline analytics, the Google Analytics tag is not loaded under GO4's current basic consent implementation.

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics is enabled for the public GO4 website.

You can later change your choice through Cookie settings in the public website footer.

Blocking or deleting essential cookies may affect functionality such as:

  • account access
  • embedded Shopify app access
  • language preferences
  • security protections

Changing or declining optional analytics does not prevent you from using the public GO4 website.

9. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, including when GO4 changes the cookies, analytics providers or similar technologies it uses.

The updated version will be published on this page with a new Last updated date.
