Shopify-specific monitoring

Monitor the Shopify data paths behind cart, products and collections

GO4 adds Shopify-aware checks on top of the broader monitoring platform. Validate cart creation with an eligible variant, keep a persistent product audit inventory and monitor collections without treating every Shopify problem as a generic page outage.

Shopify-specific checks

Go deeper into the Shopify surfaces that generic website monitoring cannot fully understand

These checks are dedicated to Shopify data and storefront behavior. The broader GO4 platform still handles page health, browser performance, journeys, SEO, JS Agent, External Radar and incidents.

01

Shopify Cart API Health

For a connected Shopify store, GO4 uses the Storefront API path to create a cart with the selected ProductVariant and verify that the expected line and quantity are present.

  • Selected ProductVariant validation
  • Cart creation and line verification
  • No checkout or order completion
02

Shopify Product Audit

Audit specific products or use automatic discovery, keep a persistent product inventory and evaluate availability, tags, image requirements and configured variant consistency rules over time.

  • Specific products or automatic discovery
  • Availability, tags and image checks
  • Variant and price consistency rules
03

Shopify Collection Audit

Audit specific collections or discover them automatically, keep persistent collection inventory and detect empty or under-filled collections according to the configured product-count rules.

  • Specific collections or automatic discovery
  • Empty collection detection
  • Minimum product-count checks
Why Shopify-aware checks matter

A healthy storefront page does not prove the Shopify data behind it is healthy

A product page can load while its selected variant is no longer usable, a collection can remain online while its inventory becomes empty, or cart creation can fail independently from the theme.

Cart API

The selected variant no longer creates the expected cart line or quantity.

Products

Availability, required data, images or variant consistency can regress while the URL still loads.

Collections

A collection can become empty or fall below the expected product count without becoming a 404.

Shopify monitoring questions

What the dedicated Shopify checks actually verify

The Shopify layer is deliberately separate from generic page and browser monitoring so each check can use the data source and health model that fits the problem.

Is Shopify Cart API Health the same as testing the cart drawer?

No. The check validates Shopify cart behavior with a selected product variant. Theme UI and cart-drawer interaction belong to browser-based monitoring such as Browser Lab or an Action Journey.

Does the Cart API check place a real order?

No. It does not complete checkout or create an order. The goal is to verify the cart path and expected cart line safely.

Can Product Audit monitor more than one product?

Yes. It supports specific product targets and automatic discovery with a persistent managed inventory, subject to the active configuration and applicable plan limits.

What can Product Audit check?

The current monitor can evaluate product availability, required or forbidden tags, image-size requirements and configured variant rules such as price, compare-at price, SKU price and option-combination consistency.

What does Collection Audit look for?

It can monitor specific collections or automatically discovered collection inventory and evaluate configured product-count rules, including empty collections and collections that fall below the expected minimum.

Do these Shopify checks replace Page Monitoring or Browser Lab?

No. They add Shopify-specific evidence. Page Monitoring, Browser Lab, SEO, JS Agent, External Radar and Action Journeys remain separate monitoring layers for other storefront risks.

Can I use GO4 without Shopify?

Yes. The broader GO4 platform supports standard public websites. The Cart API, Product Audit and Collection Audit layer is specifically for Shopify-aware monitoring.
